Asha Gomez

Asha Gomez began her professional culinary career in 2010 as the founder of Spice Route Supper Club, a series of intimate gatherings in her home that caught the attention of food lovers and the press with the surprising originality of the cooking.
The supper club’s popularity led Asha to open her first restaurant, Cardamom Hill. Kerala fried chicken, Cardamom Hill’s signature, has been a draw at the Atlanta Food & Wine Festival the last two years and won the People’s Choice award at the city’s first annual Mother Clucker Fried Chicken Festival. She has also been showcased in feature stories in the Atlantan and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and her recipes will have appeared in issues of Food & Wine, Bon Appetit, and Country Living. Cardamom Hill was named one of Bon Appetit’s 2012’s 50 Best New Restaurants, was on the 2013 James Beard Semi-Finalist List of 20 Best New Restaurants and in August of 2013 one of Southern Living’s 100 Best Restaurants in the South. Asha was also named one of the 2013 Food & Wine Magazine Best New Chef - People’s Choice semi-finalists.

In August 2014, she opened Spice to Table, a fast-casual Indian pattiserie that has already garnered national and local acclaim including Zagat' s 12 hottest Brunch places in the US, Atlanta Magazine's annual Best of Atlanta. In February 2015, Spice To Table was selected by Alan Richman as # 16 in GQ Magazine's yearly “25 best new restaurants in America award”.Currently, she is working on her first cookbook : “My Two Souths”, with Running Press (Perseus Books) slated to launch 2016. Internationally Inspired Dining Concept

Introducing spice to the American palette in familiar forms and accessible flavors. Inspired by Indian and global cuisine in savory and sweet pastries, sandwiches, stews, and salads. Using fresh, quality ingredients, Spice To Table presents artisanal food with fresh interpretations on traditional dishes.

From our beginnings as an underground supper club called Spice Route Supper Club, to the Kerala inspired upscale restaurant Cardamom Hill, and now the casual Indian pattiserie Spice To Table, Asha’s story is the evolution of self, of rites of passage, as a chef, and culinary traditions.

“To the extent that food is an expression of personality, what you’ll experience is the culmination of all my culinary journeys that find itself on a plate at Spice To Table.”
